Below are some of the questions we are frequently asked, if you have a
question that is not answered here then please contact us.
-
What is the temperature range of the G5 DST?
-
The calibrated range of the tag is 2ºC to 34ºC; the operating
temperature is -2ºC to 40ºC.
-
What is the pressure range of the G5 DST?
-
The maximum calibrated depth is 2000 m (200 bar) the absolute maximum
depth is 3000 m; below this the pressure sensor is likely to fail. The
absolute depth is defined as 1.5 times the depth range of the tag
therefore the pressure sensor on the 100 m tag is likely to fail if the
tag goes below 150 m.
-
What happens if the pressure sensor fails?
-
If the absolute depth for the tag is exceeded it is likely to be
catastrophic for the sensor, in that it does not recover. However the
data gathered up to the point of over-pressure can usually be
recovered, so long as the mechanical failure does not cause a water
path to the electronics. In a case such as this CTL will endeavour to
recover the data in our laboratory but cannot guarantee the success.
In extreme cases of over-pressure the electronics could fail beyond
recovery in which case data recovery is not possible.
-
How much does the G5 DST cost?
-
Pricing varies depends on specification and volume ordered - please see
our Pricing and Delivery
page for more details.
-
What is the delivery period?
-
Delivery times vary throughout the year - please see our
Pricing and Delivery page
for more details.
-
Can the temperature and pressure sensors be set to log at
different rates?
-
Yes, the software allows you to set the temperature and pressure
sensors to record at different rates.
-
The G5 DST doesn't quite do what I want - can you modify it to
meet my requirements?
-
We are always looking for ways to develop the G5 DST further.
Depending on what you require we may be able to modify or even develop
a tag to meet your needs. Please contact us with your requirements.
