Dive Switch & Fast Logging
If your research involves studying diving birds and mammals you will be interested in our new Dive Switch and Fast Logging Rate option.
The addition of a Dive Switch allows for a Fast Logging Rate to be activated when the animal enters the water so that dive profiles can be measured.
With these new functions you can collect data at a much faster rate during diving.
- Fast Logging at rates down to 0.1 seconds
- Fast Logging activated by entry to water
- Deactivation by removal from water/return to surface
- Operates in fresh and sea water
These animations demonstrates how the tag logs dives in 5 different scenarios
This animation requires Flash player 8 or later and Javascript to be enabled. Bypass flash version detection.
The G5 Tag must remain below the threshold of 1.5% of the tags depth range i.e.
1.5m for a 100m tag to continue fast logging. This prevents the tag from
fast logging when the bird is either sitting on the water surface or is exposed
to rain etc.
