Our in-house engineering team work closely with Cefas’ scientists to develop leadingedge, high technology products to enable and enhance our research. This combination of technical expertise and scientific experience leads to products that are designed around the needs of scientists.
Coupled with this design know-how is a competitive pricing structure and customer support from technical sales to application support.
The Cefas Mooring Locator has arisen out of the necessity to monitor and track the movement of increasingly expensive scientific instruments in remote and harsh environments.
Cyclops operates using GPS technology to determine its position anywhere around the globe and detect if it moves out of a user specified perimeter. It sends a daily email to confirm it is still on-position, and further more frequent emails if it should move out of position.2-way communication is enabled though use of the Iridium satellite network which enables total global coverage for a modest monthly subscription plus a small charge per message. This 2-way communication allows the user to adjust the unit’s settings remotely from their desk via an email.
