Dive Switch and Fast Logging
If your research involves studying diving birds and mammals you will be interested in our new Dive Switch and Fast Logging Rate option.
The addition of a Dive Switch allows for a Fast Logging Rate to be activated when the animal enters the water so that dive profiles can be measured.
With these new functions you can collect data at a much faster rate during diving.
- Fast Logging at rates down to 0.1 seconds
- Fast Logging activated by entry to water
- Deactivation by removal from water/return to surface
- Operates in fresh and sea water

The G5 Tag must remain below the threshold of 1.5% of the tags depth range i.e. 1.5m for a 100m tag to continue fast logging. This prevents the tag from fast logging when the bird is either sitting on the water surface or is exposed to rain etc.
